POSITION SUMMARY

Crow's Theatre seeks a Box Office/Front of House Supervisor to join our team. This position is an important and meaningful role in our vibrant and entrepreneurial cultural hub. The successful candidate will work in tandem with Crow’s existing Box Office/Front of House Supervisor, Swing Supervisors, and the Box Office/Front of House Team. 

This position is responsible for ensuring the highest calibre of customer service, operations, and guest and patron satisfaction. As a Box Office/Front of House Supervisor you will report to the Manager of Ticketing & Venue Services and the Manager of Front of House & Sales. This position works closely with all the departments in the company including marketing, production, programming and philanthropy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Opening/closing/alarming/locking the building
  • Generating and filing multiple, detailed, daily sales reports
  • Ensuring all areas of the venue are a clean, safe and attractive environment for patrons and artists, maintaining standards of cleanliness for safety protocols
  • Leading and supervising a team of box office representatives and volunteers during show call and daytime shifts, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed properly while providing high quality customer service
  • Promptly and politely responding to patron inquiries and concerns pertaining to box office including, but not limited to, the length of show/run, warnings, age specific restrictions, local restaurants, parking, service charges, and all ticketing policies
  • Accommodating patrons with special needs efficiently and with dignity
  • Processing telephone and walk-up ticket orders
  • Maintaining a float and complete accurate cash-out procedures, ensuring the security of box office revenue 
  • Liaising with the Lobby Bar regarding intermission service, opening nights, special events, meetings, and receptions
  • Liaising with other departments providing FOH assistance as required
  • Staying informed of performance schedules and marketing strategies and promotions relevant to ticket sales
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge on issues of individual privacy, operation of box office equipment and software, refunding, ticket resellers, etc., to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practices
  • Supporting the scheduling of FOH department shifts

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exemplary track-record of managing customer relations and fostering professional and respectful interactions between patrons and staff
  • Strong knowledge of patron services policies and procedures and industry best practices 
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring poise, diplomacy, tact, friendliness, and firmness
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and priorities; with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Cash management experience
  • Smart Serve certified
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • Two years+ experience with ticketing software knowledge is essential
  • Experience with a not-for-profit organization is an asset
  • Ability to lift and move chairs (25lbs+) is an asset
  • Knowledge of Touch Bistro is an asset

 

 COMPENSATION

This is an hourly position that pays a rate of $25/hr.  Hours of work may vary due to requirements of company’s needs and production & event schedules but estimating a 40-hour per week commitment during Crow’s regular performance season.
