    Mark Little & Andy Bush

Fresh from their CBC show Cavendish, which critics described as "not returning for a second season," Mark Little and Andy Bush are back at TOsketchfest to slop and squeal like a couple of pigs. Watch as these two homely creeps sing, dance, play a total of three (3) characters and maybe do a game show or something, all while begging for another shot at TV. "Bad!"

Uncommon Wealth by THE LUSTY MANNEQUINS
    The Show:

Equal parts emotional, wordy, and physical, The Lusty Mannequins deliver this 60 minute mischief-filled ride – fresh from Edinburgh Fringe - through the clever way they see the world. What's their style? Think Robertson Davies throwing a cocktail party and Helena Bonham Carter, Kristen Wiig and Mr. Bean showing up
    The Bio:
The Lusty Mannequins are Ashley Comeau, Alastair Forbes, Karen Parker, and Connor Thompson: the Four Horsemen of the Comedy Apocalypse!*

All four are alumni of the Second City Mainstage in Toronto, combining for over 60 years of comedy experience.

They have taught and performed the world over, from Bratislava to Barcelona, from London to the Gulf of Mexico (aboard a cruise ship). In 2016 they co-founded the Mama City Improv Festival in Cape Town, helping to create the first ever international improv festival on the African Continent. They have appeared in commercials and TV shows and films and have sung with symphonies and written plays and podcasts, alongside folks like John Cleese, Robin Duke, Martin Short, Colin Mochrie, and the Kids in the Hall.

They have gathered many accolades including Canadian Comedy Awards, Dora Award nominations and most recently the ‘Best of the Fest’ from the 2018 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival last March. Most recently, they just got back from a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with their hit show Uncommonwealth.

All four are on the faculty of the Second City Training Centre in Toronto, where they teach improv to people of all ages and skill levels. They continue to tour the world teaching, promoting and performing comedy.

*Alastair stepped on a bird once, so he would be Death probably.

    Dead Parents Society

    THE SHOW:

Dead Parents Society, a new dark sketch comedy revue written and performed by comedians with deceased parents, and directed by Kirsten Rasmussen, will shine a light at the end of the tunnel. Losing a parent is always hard. Losing a parent when your peers are constantly complaining about their mom calling them too often is brutal. The experience of navigating grief, in a society that teaches us to put sadness away into tiny little drawers, taught us that the aftermath of tragedy can be funny AF.

    THE BIO:

Dead Parents Society was created by a group of comedians who each lost a parent at a young age, and decided to write about their grief the only way they know how – through the wonderful tool of sketch comedy. Dead Parents Society is a sketch comedy show with heart about love and loss and mortality.

Dead Parents Society is written and performed by Shohana Sharmin (Not Oasis), Anne McMaster (Not Oasis), Carolyne Das (The Kweendom), Jacqueline Twomey (TwoSon), and King Chiu (A Sketch Comedy Extravaganza Eleganza, 2019 Canadian Comedy Award), under the direction of 2019 Canadian Comedy Award winner Kirsten Rasmussen (The Second City Toronto).

    THE SHOW:

The Weight of It All is an original solo sketch comedy that will take you on a hormonal journey through body image, disordered eating, fertility issues, the new sex ed curriculum, and death - all while mercury is in retrograde!

Written by Gillian Bartolucci (The Sketchersons, Just For Laughs, JFL42) and directed by Carly Heffernan (Second City Toronto, Second City Chicago, She The People).

"Dark, smart, impeccably performed satire with so much truth at the centre"
