  Crow’s Theatre is thrilled to welcome Amélie et Les Singes Bleus to Streetcar Crowsnest for our first family Concert of the 2017-2018 season! 

   

  Amélie & Les Singes Bleus is the kind of band that causes a bride and groom to leave their own wedding reception to come next door and dance. With an exuberant energy and sultry vibe, ASLB makes music that pulls at the heart strings – and pulls young and old onto the dance floor!
  
  This is a band that is full of surprises. Whether turning Edith Piaf’s Johnny into a smokey, hip-hop influenced confession, or transforming Jacques Brel’s Les Singes into a frenetic, megaphone-amplified warning, ALSB do not play it safe.
  
  They view french classics through a distorted, off-kilter kaleidoscope of influences, building songs from a junkyard of broken parts. Jazz, ’60’s pop, cabaret, rock, soul, gypsy, torch song, r&b and grungy, stompy blues all get thrown into the mix. When playing their own songs they use the same approach, creating a modern and unique sound that is built with the musical cobblestones of the past. A road of songs – pointing toward the future.
  
  They have been bringing their charm and musical charisma to audiences all across Canada. Winners of the Coup De Foudre 2012 from the franco-ontarien Contact presenters and four time nominees for the Trille Or Awards (for best show, best single, best album cover and best songwriting), the band continues to grow in popularity. Their stage show is as varied and surprising as the music itself. One moment you will find them playing frantically enough to break a sweat, the next gathered around a single microphone, whispering 3 part harmonies over a smokey, latin guitar groove. Their performances are pure musical joy – and, yes, a bit of monkeying around.
