Land Acknowledgment
Welcome to Streetcar Crowsnest. The staff and artists of Crow’s Theatre acknowledge and are thankful for the original caretakers and knowledge keepers of the traditional territory where we work: the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
As occupants and stakeholders of this land in the east end of Tkaronto, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue the traditions of storytelling and artistry alongside these nations and the many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples who reside here.
We honour the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant and our responsibility for the stewardship of the land and community that surrounds us. We honour the Nations recorded and unrecorded, and acknowledged and unacknowledged, who hold rights to this land.
We acknowledge that we are all treaty people and accept our responsibility to honour all our relations across Turtle Island with peace, reciprocity, and respect.
We encourage everyone to learn more about the land you live on by visiting and exploring native-land.ca, to read the Truth and Reconciliation Report, which you can find at trc.ca, and to donate to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society at irsss.ca.
