Everyone has a bigmouth in their life. Someone you love who cannot resist saying the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong people. You wish they would think before they speak—but you also love that they never do.
 
Just before Stars heads out on a major U.S. tour with Metric and Broken Social Scene, Torquil Campbell gets a phone call from one of his tour mates. The bands have been talking. Given the political climate south of the border, could Torquil maybe resist the urge to get too political onstage? Could he, just this once, keep his big mouth shut?
 
They have a fight. They make up. But the question sticks.
 
Torquil Campbell—co-lead singer of Stars and the raconteur and actor behind the acclaimed True Crime and Stars: Together, both directed by longtime collaborator Chris Abraham—has been a bigmouth all his life. It’s been a blessing and a curse, a source of pride and shame. It’s taken him to stages around the world, and it’s cost him professionally and personally.
 
Now, after a lifetime of speaking up even when it costs him dearly, Torquil is asking himself: should I keep talking, no matter what the cost? Or is there finally something to be said for shutting the fuck up?
