A woman with light, wavy, shoulder-length blonde hair is dressed in a satin, off-the-shoulder white gown. She holds an ornate, embossed hand mirror that covers one eye and part of her face. Her other hand is raised with the palm facing outward. The background is solid black, creating a high contrast with the subject and enhancing the monochrome aesthetic.

American Devotion takes us back to 1957 and the Connecticut farmhouse shared by Marilyn Monroe and her celebrated playwright husband, Arthur Miller. In this fictional version of events, Norman Mailer has successfully wangled a coveted invitation for cocktails with the reclusive couple.  With McCarthyism running rampant, Miller has been called to testify before the House of Un-American Activities Committee adding further strain to an already besieged marriage.  Mailer storms into this delicate situation ready to do battle and claim his prize at any cost but Monroe has plans of her own for the evening's festivities.
